Some DVDs

It's a long since I blog. Have been busy with some stuffs. Hee hee... Managed to catch some DVDs last week. Here they are:

1. Kung Pow! (English)

Kung Pow!

Description: "Writer-director Steve Oedekerk (THE NUTTY PROFESSOR and ACE VENTURA: WHEN NATURE CALLS) creates an off-the-wall comedy and a new martial arts genre that substantially alters dubbed action footage from a 1970's martial arts picture with a brand new twist in the story line and altered dialogue. The story follows The Chosen One (Oedekerk) as he seeks to avenge the death of his parents at the hands of thr evil and seemingly indestructable kung fu legend, Master Pain."

My ratings for Kung Pow! : 3.5 / 5 (Watch it if you are a fan of kung fu shows from the 70's)

2. New Police Story (Cantonese)

New Police Story

Description: "Inspector Wing of the Hong Kong Police Force has become the victim of a gang, led by the evil Joe. When his entire team is killed..."

My ratings for New Police Story: 4.5 / 5 (This show is superbly done. Some scences might be too violent for children)

3. Sil Mi Do (Korean)

Sil Mi Do

Description: "January 1968, 31 members of North Korean Special Unit 124 infiltrated South Korea with the ultimate mission of assassinating President Park Chung-hee. This unit is composed of social outcasts and criminals under death sentences and their mission is to behead Kim II-sung. They survive the most hellish inhumane training in Silmido and are reborn as human armories. However, in 1970, with a growing peacemaking movement between the North and the South, the government decides to demolish the Unit and executes all the members..."

My ratings for Sil Mi Do: 4 / 5 (The Army training is very violent. Must watch if you are planning to join the Army or if you are a war flick fan =P)

4. 100 days with Mr. Arrogant (Korean)

100 Days With Mr. Arrogant

Description: "High school girl Ha-Young inadvertently causes Hyung-Joon to crash his Lexus. To reimburse him for damages, she agrees to be his slave for 100 days. But she seeks revenge when she realizes the damage to his car was not actually serious."

My ratings for 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant: 4 / 5 (Kinda same story with Sex Is Zero and it's not as good as Sex Is Zero. Watch it if you are a Ha Ji-Won fan. She's so cute =P)

5. Hi Dharma 2: Showdown in Seoul (Korean)

Hi Dharma 2: Showdown in Seoul

Description: "After the abbott of Mushim Temple in Seoul dies, three monks from a small temple on the outskirts are requested to take over Mushim temple until all the paperwork is finalized. Upon arrival, the monks find out that the head monk of Mushim Temple is heavily in debt and has already left the temple, leaving several junior monks to care for themselves. The three monks try to raise money by donations to save the temple, but when several gangsters (led by Shin Hyun Jun) show up to collect on the head monk's debts and to reclaim the property, things go awfully awry. The gangsters take away the donation box, which has a donated lottery ticket that won the jackpot of 30 billion Won . . ."

My ratings for Hi Dharma 2: Showdown in Seoul: 4.5 / 5 (This movie is really funny and creative! Laff sei ngo... XD It's also an X'mas movie... Watch it!)
